The table and the stats above use the statistical average across your golems. Switch to the Loot tab and hit Reroll for one actual randomly-rolled outcome instead — every golem always drops one uncut gem (weighted sapphire/emerald/ruby/diamond), so that part reroll every time; the chisel is rare enough (1/300) that it's shown as odds rather than a simulated count. Jeweller's chisel is untradeable and valued at its fixed 60,000gp high alch price. Cut-gem XP uses the standard Crafting cutting table (sapphire 50, emerald 67.5, ruby 85, diamond 107.5) — this part hasn't changed in years and is well established.

Golem crafting on Wyrmscraig turns sunstones and hunter furs into Crafting XP and an uncut gem for every golem. This calculator compares all the usable furs by XP per golem, cost and time to your target Crafting level, or works out what a stack of banked fur is worth in XP.

Quick facts

You need level 60 Crafting and must have finished Fallen From Grace. It is a members-only activity on the island of Wyrmscraig.
Mine 25 sunstones, chisel them into sunstone cores, shape the golem from its four sides, then insert a core and a fur to finish it.
Each side of the golem takes 20 ticks (12 seconds), or 15 ticks (9 seconds) if you spam-click.
Only proper furs work. Tatty furs cannot be used. Better furs give more Crafting XP per golem, and moonlight antelope fur gives the most.
Every golem gives an uncut gem: sapphire 15/23, emerald 5/23, ruby 2/23, diamond 1/23. There is also a 1/300 chance of a jeweller's chisel.
A typical pace is about 58 golems per hour. The wiki lists up to about 185,000 Crafting XP per hour at high intensity, and a low-intensity method of around 100,000 Crafting XP plus 28,000 Hunter XP per hour.

Tips

Use a large fur pouch to carry 25 furs between bank trips, and an empty gem bag for the rewards. As of the update on 12 August 2026, gems are collected into the gem bag automatically.
Chisel and insert on the same tile to cut down on walking, and save the north side of the golem for last.
A rune pickaxe and expert mining gloves help with collecting sunstones.
The fastest fur is always the one with the highest XP per golem, but it is not always the cheapest per XP. The fur comparison table shows both.

Which fur is best for XP?

Moonlight antelope fur gives the most Crafting XP per golem, and lower-tier furs give less. The comparison table sorts every usable fur so you can weigh XP against price.

How do I use the banked fur mode?

Enter how many of each fur you have. The calculator adds up the XP they will give and shows how far that takes you from your current level.

Does the golems-per-hour slider matter?

Yes. It sets how fast you finish golems, so it drives the time estimates. Most players average around 58 to 60 per hour. Adjust it to your own pace.

Can I use tatty furs?

No. Tatty furs cannot be used in golem crafting. Use the regular versions of each fur.
