How the Mage Training Arena calculator works
The Mage Training Arena has four rooms that each pay out points, which you spend on rewards such as Infinity robes, wands, the Mage's book and the Bones to Peaches spell. Tick the rewards you want, pick your spell in each room, and this calculator shows the points, time and Magic XP it takes.
Quick facts
- You need at least 7 Magic to start, and that only lets you cast Level 1 Enchant. You need 33 Magic to use all four rooms.
- The point cap per room is 8,000 for the Telekinetic Theatre and the Creature Graveyard, 16,000 for the Alchemist's Playground and 32,000 for the Enchanting Chamber. These caps were doubled on 8 May 2024.
- Telekinetic Theatre: 2 points and 250 Magic XP per maze, plus a bonus of 8 points, 10 law runes and 1,000 XP after 5 mazes in a row.
- Creature Graveyard: you earn points from the fruit you deposit, and peaches earn points about twice as fast as bananas. Bananas give 5 XP each and peaches 10 XP each.
- Enchanting Chamber: points equal to the spell level, doubled on dragonstones. It has the highest XP rates, around 130,000 XP per hour casually.
- Alchemist's Playground: 1 point and 10 coins in your bank for every 100 coins alchemised, with 2 Magic XP per coin deposited.
- Since 8 May 2024 you no longer need the progress hat to enter, you can log out in most rooms and keep your progress, and there is a bank chest upstairs.
Tips
- Unlock Bones to Peaches early. It nearly doubles how fast you earn points in the Creature Graveyard.
- The Enchanting Chamber pays the most XP, so it suits you best if XP is the goal rather than the rewards.
- Bring staves to cover elemental runes, since they are the biggest ongoing rune cost.
- Master wand needs your Teacher wand plus points, so plan your order of purchases before you spend anything.
Frequently asked questions
How are the times worked out?
The calculator uses a mid-intensity pace for each room rather than the fastest possible speedrun, so the times are realistic rather than best case. The XP and points rates it uses are listed at the bottom of the page.
Why is the time added across rooms?
You train one room at a time, so the hours for each room you need are added together. The room table shows which single room is quickest for your chosen rewards.
Which room should I use for a specific reward?
The reward table lists the point price of each item in every room. Compare the rooms and pick the one where your wishlist costs the least time, as shown in the room breakdown.
Does my Magic level matter?
Yes. Higher Enchant levels need more Magic, and the calculator greys out the ones you cannot cast yet. Enter your level or XP at the top to see the right options.
